They beat us to the punch! A new browser extension, consciously.us, promises to help consumers make more conscious decisions when shopping online. According to the site, the key causes graded by the extension are:
-Animal rights
-Gender equality
-Racial equality
-Made in USA
-Shop small
So the most important factors differ slightly, but our ideas show a lot of promising overlap.
So far, I have had no success in seeing consciously in action, despite installing the extension. I tried a few minutes browsing some sites I thought might be popular–Nordstrom, lululemon, zappos–and the extension had nothing to tell me. The extension is stuck on:
"We have no information on this company.
Consciously will automatically appear when we have info to share."
If I can find a site that has actually been catalogued, I will make some updates on what we think! Rock on consciously!
