Finally a Paybeans update! For our one reader out there! After the drama of losing the domain paybeans.com (I was too busy and too shortsighted to update my credit card information with Google domains), we are officially back on the web with paybeans.org. I will try not to be too upset that an obscure site written in German selling a small line of smartphone cases swiped our old domain. Hopefully losing paybeans.com becomes irrelevant and paybeans.org is really the space in which this concept should live. From the beginning, we wanted the concept of Paybeans to be altruistic, educational, and open-source, not commercial.
I have to be honest that I’ve struggled with whether the concept of Paybeans is worth our pursuit. Certainly this would take a lot of research—probably an entire staff of professionals—to transform Paybeans from an idea to a prolific tool. We don’t have the brilliant minds (well Justin probably does) or bandwidth to log the kind of hours that Paybeans needs to evolve beyond just a concept. It might be worth considering the idea as just a resource page of sorts – a single stop where conscientious individuals ponder their decision process. But is the goal of Paybeans merely linking users to better information?
